This article will cover the permission concept and structure of vRx dashboard users.
Key Security Elements
The User Management system consists of 3 elements:
1. Users
2. Roles
3. Teams
Simply put, Teams consist of Users who are assigned with Roles, that dictate what resources the users are assigned to and what are their allowed actions in vRx.
User Role (Permissions)
Each user is assigned with a Role that will determine this user's permissions in the platform.
There are 3 Roles:
1. Owner
Owners have full access and control from top to bottom. They can operate and manage all security and IT tasks, as well as the user management itself - Owners are the only ones that are able to create teams and assign roles to individual users.
2. Admin
Admins operate and manage all security and IT tasks, view data, control assets, and perform functions within the team(s) they’ve been assigned to. Admins are not exposed to the user management tab.
3. Viewer
Within their team, viewers are only able to view and access the security data and information that corresponds with the assets they’ve been assigned to. Viewers are not exposed to the user management tab and cannot perform actions, run scripts, apply patches etc.
